Evaluasi Guru: Jalur UKG atau Sistem Pengawasan Sekolah? Oleh Dhitta Puti Sarasvati & Itje Chodidjah Tanggal 30 Juli 2012 guru seantero Indonesia disibukkan oleh hajatan besar Kemendikbud yaitu Uji Kompetensi Guru. Sebuah perhelatan evaluasi terhadap kompetensi para guru dalam bentuk test online. Pemerintah merasa memerlukan data untuk memetakan kompetensi guru sehingga bisa menjadi dasar dalam merancang bentuk program peningkatan kompetensi guru yang perlu dilakukan.  Hal tersebut mengisyaratkan bahwa selama ini tidak ada data mengenai kompetensi guru. Perihal tidak adanya data yang dapat digunakan untuk memetakkan kompetensi guru disampaikan oleh pernyataan Pak Nuh, Menteri Pendidikan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia. Barefoot College : Guru Adalah Murid dan Murid Adalah Guru Beberapa tahun yang lalu saya melihat sebuah film dokumenter di Eagle Awards, Metro TV . Film tersebut menggambarkan mengenai seorang dokter yang bekerja di daerah pedalaman. Saat itu ada seorang pasien yang harus diinfus. Namun, ada masalah. Cairan infus yang tersedia sudah kadaluwarsa.  Pilihan yang ada hanya dua, antara menggunakan infus yang sudah kadaluwarsa atau tidak menginfus pasien sama sekali. Sang dokter akhirnya memilih pilihan yang pertama. Untungnya, sang pasien sembuh. Hal yang serupa terjadi ketika dia harus mengoperasi seorang pasien. Dokter tersebut membutuhkan pisau bedah tetapi saat itu tidak ada pisau bedah yang tersedia. Akhirnya dokter memilih menggunakan alat potong lain untuk mengoperasi pasien. Saya lupa alat apa yang digunakan, kalau tidak salah dia menggunakan cutter. Tentunya alat tersebut perlu disterilisasi terlebih dahulu. Kalau dokter yang bekerja di kota-kota besar menerapkan ...

I find the village people are very logic, and sober thinkers and do not think so complicated as the city people. I have come to compare this with the wajang. In the wajang the heroes of Ramajana, and Mahabarat like Arjuna, Bima, Gatot Kaca, Judistira etc., are thinking in a very complicated way... not very logic but very Ksatria and so on, while the figures like Bagong, Semar, Petruk, Garong, etc. are very sober and very logic, very often coming with home truths and very realistics. Well, this same comparison can be made for the whole of Indonesian society. The pemimpin-pemimpin are the Arjuna, Judistira, etc., thinking in very complicated terms, but the common desa people are very sober and logic like Semar and Petruk. The same comparison is also true for the villages around  Djakarta. The people there are also very sober and logic.
